New York State officials State officials announced a settlement
with the Reader's Digest Association for what they said was that organization's
deceptive marketing of its sweepstakes contests. RDA agreed to pay $171,000
in restitution to consumers who bought Reader's Digest products in the state
and $25,000 to the state to cover the costs of the case.
